JOY AND THE MAGICAL HOT AIR BALLOON
Joy explained patiently to Ginni that the gift is meant for the birthday boy. When her birthday will come, she’ll get lots of gifts too! Ginni understood and stopped crying. Mom was so proud of her little boy. Someone else was proud too---
The Blue Fairy!!
The Blue Fairy decided to reward Joy. She came in his dreams the next day and said, “Joy, you were a good brother yesterday. So I’m giving you a real hot air balloon. It can carry any number of people; it can carry any weight and take you wherever you ask. But remember you can use it only thrice.”
“Wow!! I’ve never sat in a hot air balloon before!” exclaimed Joy, as he woke up. He called his friend, Sid, and both of them ran towards the park. There they saw a big balloon. They called everybody they knew. When every person sat in the balloon’s basket, it flew up. It flew over the mountains and the rivers. It was fun, but after some time their friends wanted to get back to the ground. Even though Joy and Sid wanted to fly more, they had to land because of their friends
So they decided to take a ride all by themselves later. That night, they sneaked out of their homes and rode the balloon. They had a great time counting stars, collecting clouds, and scaring little birds. When they looked down at dawn, they could only see a huge river, unbelievably wide, surrounded on both sides by thick green rainforests.
“Where can we be?” wondered Sid.
“It must be Amazon, the greatest river in the world that carries more water than any other river.” replied Joy. “So we’re in South America. Magical Hot air balloon, take us home”.
And they reached home in no time.
Then one day Joy heard a disturbing news: An asteroid from outer space was about to hit Earth. Many people will die, but nobody can do anything.
But Joy was not helpless. He ran out to the park and tied a piece of ground to the hot air balloon. Then he said to the balloon, “Magical Hot Air Balloon, The Fairy told me you can lift any weight. So please lift the whole Earth from its orbit for a little time till the Asteroid passes away, and then put it back safely”
Amazingly, the Balloon was able to lift the Earth up. The Asteroid zoomed away without ever touching the Earth. Everybody was safe and the magical hot air balloon disappeared.
JOY AND THE MAGICAL MICROPHONE
The Blue Fairy!!
The Blue Fairy decided to reward Joy. When Joy slept, the Blue Fairy came in his dreams and said, “Joy, I gift you this magical microphone for being such a nice orator. When you speak through it, only the person you wish to speak to can hear you. That person will be able to hear you no matter how far away he is. But remember, all my gifts can be used only thrice. Have Fun!!”
As soon as Joy woke up, he found a red magical microphone tucked beneath his pillow. Joy quickly picked it and said, “This message is for my friend, Sid. Sid, I want to show you something, come to my home.”
For sure, the doorbell rang soon. Sid came running, excited. “You know what”, he said, “I thought I heard your voice, but I could not see you anywhere. It was amazing!”
“Not amazing, Magical”, corrected Joy as he told Sid about the new microphone.
Then they decided to use it on Santa Claus. They said, “This message is for Santa Claus. Hello Santa, this is Joy and Sid. This Christmas please get us a real big fighter aeroplane, and not a toy. Thank you.”
Now as the friends were waiting for the aeroplane, they were surprised instead by a letter, that came nicely wrapped in a blue laced envelope. It read: “Dear Joy and Sid, You should use your magical gifts for helping people or for having fun. I’m busy. Also, you both are very young now for a real fighter aeroplane. Bye, Santa.”
The friends realized that they were misusing their gifts by being selfish and greedy. They decided not to repeat the mistake again.
As they reached the playground, they saw Robby. Nobody liked Robby because he was a bully. Joy and Sid hid behind a big tree and spoke in the microphone – “This message is for Robby. Robby, I am God speaking.” Robby looked around, surprised. Amused, Sid continued, “I have been watching you. You bother and hassle other children. If you do not start loving and caring others, I’m afraid I’ll have to punish you!!” Robby turned white on hearing this.
“It must be God”, Robby thought, and ran back home, determined to become a good boy.
The playground was a much friendlier place after that, and though the microphone disappeared, it taught all - Sid, Joy and Robby, important lessons.
JOY AND THE MAGICAL BAT
Once upon a time, there was a boy named Joy. Once he went to a supermarket with his family where he was amazingly nice and helpful. He helped dad move the cart, mom pick up the groceries, and he even entertained his sister, Ginni when she got cranky. Mom was very proud of her little boy.
Someone else was proud too – the Blue Fairy!!!!
The Blue Fairy decided to reward Joy. When Joy slept, the Blue Fairy came in his dreams and said, “Joy, you have been a very good boy today. So, I am giving you this cricket bat!” The bat was the size of half a pencil. “This is a magical bat. It will grow up to the normal size when played. It can be played with anything. It can hit things as far as you want. But remember, all my gifts can be used only thrice. Enjoy!”
When Joy woke up, he found the tiny cricket bat under his pillow.
That afternoon Joy asked his friend Sid to play cricket with him.
“How can we play cricket? We don’t have a bat!!” Sid replied.
Then much to Sid’s astonishment, Joy took out his toy. Immediately, the bat increased in size, and became a real bat.
“Wow!” he said, “But the Blue Fairy should have given you a ball also!”
“The Blue Fairy said we can play with anything.” replied Joy. So they started playing with a stone. Amazingly, the stone became as bouncy as a ball, and the two friends played till long.
When they reached home, Joy was very tired. He carelessly left his bat on the floor. Ginni tripped over the bat, but she became bouncy as a ball and bounced upwards. Luckily, Joy saw this just in time and was able to catch her in his arms. He decreased the bat’s size and kept it in his pocket right away.
Later that evening, Joy and Sid were standing on the balcony when they noticed a robber looting cash from a nearby store. He had a gun.
“What should we do?” Joy wondered aloud. “Even if we call police, the robber will run away before they arrive”.
Sid had a bright idea. “Let’s play cricket with your magic bat and a knife” said Sid. Joy took the bat out. As Sid bowled with the knife, which magically bounced like a ball, Sid hit it with his magical bat and said “To that robber’s shoulders!”
The knife flew from the balcony and landed edge down on the robber’s shoulders. The robber cried out in pain, and dropped his gun. People around at once grabbed the robber!! The bat disappeared immediately but the two friends were very happy.
