Once upon a time there was a boy named Joy. One day a cyclone named Gonu hit his city. It brought fierce winds and non stop rains. Water started to seep into his home too. There was no electricity. Joy helped his parents by being obedient. He loved the weather, but his father told him it would be dangerous to go out because of the fast winds. So he stayed inside and played with his sister, Ginni and his best friend, Sid. He followed all the safety instructions that his parents gave. When the cyclone was over, they were all safe, and happy. Someone else was happy too –
The Blue Fairy.
The blue fairy appeared in Joy’s dreams that night and said, “Joy, you have been very obedient in a difficult time. I will reward you with this magical fan. It can blow hot or cold air at any speed, even as fast as a cyclone. Enjoy!!”
Joy found the tiny magical fan under his pillow when he woke up. He took it immediately to Sid’s house. But when he reached there, Sid was crying!! The strong winds of Gonu had brought a lot of sand and waste inside his room. His home was a total mess!! “Cleaning it would take two full days”, cried Sid. But Joy had other ideas. He switched on his fan at a medium speed and blew air towards the scattered debris. Very soon, he made a huge pile of debris in one corner of the room that can be easily picked up. Sid was very happy!! “Now I can play instead of cleaning my room. Thank you Joy!” And both the friends played till long.
When Joy reached home, he found Ginni cranky. “What is it today, everybody is crying?” wondered Joy. He soon found out that Ginni was upset because her dress was wet. It was her favorite dress and she wanted to wear that only. Mom didn’t know what to do! Luckily Joy knew. He used his magical fan to blow hot air on the dress, and it was dry in no time. Ginni became very happy and gave her brother a tight hug!
Later that evening, Joy went with his father to distribute drinking water to the needy. Even as they watched workers fixing the damage caused by Gonu, they could see a batch of black rain clouds in a distance. The rain clouds were coming towards the city. “Oh No!!” his father gasped. “Another rain will make it very difficult for the rescue workers to save and help people.” Joy had a solution.
He directed his fan towards the rain clouds and switched on the air at highest speed. The strong cyclonic winds from the fan blew the clouds far away into the ocean, and Joy’s city was safe from further rains. The magical fan disappeared, and Joy and his father returned happily to their home.
